Lead Developer, Report Management System

  • Responsibilities:  Convert existing Client Server Reporting System into a web-based system (Seagate Info/ Crystal Reports, Crystal Enterprise 10, Business Objects XI).  Design/ Modify Crystal Info reports.  Develop and test server builds.  SA/DBA (NT/SQL).  Write/ Review installation/ applications manuals for server installations, user and admin manuals; Write Test Plans.  Support System Admins with fielded systems. 
  • Additional Achievements:  Grew report set from small handful of operations reports into over 200 operations, metrics, and development reports, at multiple sites.  Converted reports to pull from multiple sites, reduced run time for major operations report by 98%; Gave CR 9 and CR 10 classes, workshops; Visited US, Pacific, and Europe sites to guide installations and provide demos and training.

  • Responsibilities:  Design/ Modify Crystal Info reports.  Build and test server platforms.  SA/DBA (NT/SQL).  Write/ Review and rewrite installation/ applications manuals for server installations; Write Functional/ Non-Functional Test Plans.  Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain reporting processes.  On-Call for reporting system problems.  Intra-System Expert Support.  Identify/ Monitor Unix system performance problems, propose solutions for Service Restoration Team.
  • Additional Achievements:  Designed technique to control URL access on open server.  Re-designed data extraction program to increase efficiency (Perl, shell scripts).  Designed and implemented server program to monitor and control document versions to reclaim server disk space (VB).

Senior Program Analyst

  • Responsible for Web interface to Remedy Helpdesk system.  As webmaster and main developer, designed web site using HTML, JavaScript, CGI, and VBScript/ASP pages for user interface to Remedy system and data extraction.  Designed management level web reports (Crystal Reports) to extract project information.  Designed performance tracking, workload, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and data normalization reports (Access/ MS SQL) for management and internal developer use.  SA/DBA for MS NT / MS SQL 6.5.  Wrote procedures to automate database backup and maintenance (MS SQL).  This position was a continuation of the position listed below, except under the parent contractor.

  • Similar responsibilities as listed above.  Designed reports package utilizing Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, MSSQL and ODBC for local access to management level reports.  Web site design and maintenance, web report design for remote access to Helpdesk.  Helpdesk support, training for users (Remedy). This position was a contract follow-on to the position listed below.

  • Similar details as listed above, in addition to:  Reviewed/ rewrote SA/DBA course material for Army software system (SAACONS). Taught SA/DBA course (Unix-based operating systems/ Progress DBMS). Design application converting multi-language application/ separate databases into a Windows client-server application, with reporting capabilities.

  • Technical personnel for proprietary software product (doctor's office reporting and billing suite).  Responsible for product demonstration, system specification, software (proprietary) and hardware system installation/integration, data conversion, training and customization of clients' systems, trouble-shooting, help desk, and support.  Wrote proposals, specified and ordered computer systems.
